Jodi Wood Artisans, based in central Oklahoma but ships country-wide, specializes in custom
indoor/outdoor wood furniture and home accessories. We focus on creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind
items for every home.
We offer a wide variety of wood species sourced throughout central Oklahoma, including Eastern red cedar, black jack, cottonwood, pecan, oak, cherry, poplar, walnut, elm, and most recently maple. Our milled lumber comes from fallen, compromised, or invasive trees.
We were removing invasive Eastern red cedar trees when we noted the irony of the unattractive exterior versus the gorgeous interior colors, grain and uniqueness of this tree. These trees are so dangerous to our environment but don't need to rot away. That's when jodiwoodartisans was born! We harvested multiple larger trees and hauled them to a local backyard sawmill. We dry our slabs and rounds inside until the moisture is suitable to create our products. The wood is sterilized in a kiln. We try to think of every possible use and function of the tree, like using limbs for turnings and stumps for table bases.
We finish our products either naturally, like the charcuterie boards, with food grade oil and wax or for a more durable finish we use polyurethane. The satin finishes leave a softer tone while the gloss poly brings out bold colors. We let the natural colors of the wood species shine!
